Beyond the Business Map
Introducing the B-3 model for book-based businesses
Ever wondered why figuring out your business ecosystem didn’t work for you?
I think it’s because it didn’t feel alive. You tried to map it, or a business coach invited you to do so. You did it maybe once or twice, and you continued doing what seemed to be done.
The B-3 model came when I kept seeing why some structures move on their own and others stay stuck as diagrams.
The outer circle: book trilogy. How your books work together, how they create entry points, how they let people move between them.
The middle circle: business field. Your books, your community space, your services. Three containers at different temperatures.
The inner circle: base forces. What moves underneath everything visible. Direct dialogue. Natural mention. Easy discovery. Fictive branding. Facilitated finding. Gentle collaboration.
The base forces are already there. They’re moving whether you map them or just let them be. They move through your business field. They show up in how your books interact.
When you see this, you stop trying to build an ecosystem and start noticing what’s already happening. The structure is something you recognize rather than create.
Each circle informs the others. Your book trilogy is one expression of your business field. Your business field is where the forces become visible. The forces are what make either structure come alive.
