Stepping aside (without going anywhere)
To step aside (or to awaken/enlighten) might just be about fooling yourself that you can detach your mind from your body, so you can play with it and see reality's illusion. You notice the body isn't yours, just a borrowed entity you seem to inhabit for a lifetime. What a relief that can be.
But it's still an action, even though it might be a matter of undoing.
Can we see that the body is fully entangled with the mind, without losing our mind over this? Or maybe properly losing our mind, as we'd then notice that our body-mind is just as entangled with those of apparent others.
You might find the same relief, but maybe with even less effort. No need to hold onto it. I like to call this ‘stepping aside’ instead. You can forget about it anytime, you're just a limiting (but endlessly powerful) body-mind anyway.
Not without reason I named my book trilogy 'Remember to Forget': they all come down to falling into what you already are, so there's nothing left to remember. This gives all the space to just see or be, whatever feels joyful in the moment.
