Starting something new feels good. Fresh page, no questions, no expectations. You’re writing again. That must mean things are moving.
And maybe they are. But sometimes, writing is just a way to not deal with what’s already done.
You say the last book or article is finished. But you don’t really talk about it. You didn’t let it land. You didn’t let it be seen. You moved on.
Not because it wasn’t worth sharing, but because it’s easier to keep creating than it is to pause. To actually let something be complete. To risk silence.
Now you’re back at the start. And maybe this next book or article will reach the right people. Maybe it will carry the old one with it, as some books do.
But if we keep writing just to avoid what’s already here, we’ll always need something new to escape into.
