You have a Substack. You might have a publication. You write, and share it. You share it more and more often. You collect the content. You bring it together. And voila,
you’ve got the content of your book.
Is it that simple?
No. But it can be.
The problem is the writer. You disturb the process constantly. You think you need to finish it, structure it, be consistent, and wrap it up and publish.
But you don’t.
Writing happens, when it happens. It flows, if you let it. It gathers itself. It knows where it’s going, even if you don’t.
Still, you keep stepping in.
If it’s almost finished, you can’t get it done. If it hasn’t started, you don’t know how to begin. If you’re halfway, you try to control it. If it’s done, you doubt it.
Always you. The writer.
Forget the writer, and the writing won’t be forgotten.
